Hmmm... where should I begin?
Well, I've read the Constitution, and find it fun to check for updates on the wiki. I've known about Mary Sues and Gary Stus for over a year, and I don't want to create any myself (parody Sues are an exception, but only if done right). I haven't written any fanfiction, but I hope my decent English and my knowledge of the PPC makes up for it.
I'd love to help with the missions, but I'd feel it would be a bit easier and more fun to do it with someone else. If you have any more questions (like fandoms and... other things) feel free to ask me.

Oh, and just in case it was not clear, I want to explain the whole Jumper talking in parentheses thing. Jumper is my OC. I find that I work best when I have someone to bounce off of, even if he is a fictional multiverce-traveling piece of my imagination, so I separate his lines with parentheses so people don't become confused.
(Hey, Worldie, I got a season two Friendship is Magic marathon going on now, wanna- Oh, hey, the newbie got herself an OC. Hello there! What's you're name?)
Jumper, that's not her OC.
(Then who is she?)
Currently a figment of your imagination brought on by Katie here. I think.

I do have a question or two or you:
-What are your fandoms?
-Have you read any PPC missions yet?
Also, don't worry about not writing any fanfiction - if you do or don't, it's up to you and does not make you a good or bad person. (Also, if you feel safer doing missions with a helper or several, you don't have to ask for Permission to co-write with someone who already has Permission.) -
Yay, hugs! by

I'll try to answer these the best I can:
1. I'm involved in various fandoms, both popular and obscure.
My main fandoms are video game fandoms, and may fluctuate depending how interested I am in them at the time. I guess I like just about anything Nintendo or SEGA related, Dragon Quest, Shadow Hearts, and The World Ends With You. It's kind of hard to list them all.
2. I have read (and stil like to read, mind you) quite a few PPC missions. They are quite entertaining to read.
I'll save these bleepnerds for any upcoming missions.
Thanks! -

Funny thing is, I associated myself with the number 20 before MLP: FIM.
For my favorite pony, it's hard to decide between Fluttershy (She's so adorable!), Pinkie Pie (Who does't like a crazy, bubbly pony?), and Twilight Sparkle (She's nerdy and can be awkward, someone I can associate with).
I loved all the 2-parter episodes, especially "Return of Harmony". It was full of emotion, and although things looked grim, good eventually prevailed in the end. -

Best villan: Discord. Was there any doubt? In my opinion, he is not only the best MLP villain, he is one of the better villains I have seen in a long time.
Villan that got the short end of the stick: Ahuizotl. What, don't remember him? He's the villain from Daring Do and the Sapphire Stone. You did not even remember his name. You all remember Sombra, right? So there you go.
Actually, I liked Sombra. Or, at least, I like my head-canon version of Sombra. A unicorn, not an Alicorn, who is the ultimate dark magician in the world. He cannot be killed, have his mortal form disintegrate until he is nothing but shadow. Essentially, he is the closest My Little Pony will ever get to a Lich. Unless Grogar comes back. But that's G1, not G4. -
Mostly agree with Jumper. by
on 2013-01-11 20:17:00 UTC

Discord was definitely my favorite villain. Not only is he essentially insane and wacky (two traits I like), but he was so close to defeating the "Mane Six" by corrupting every one of them. If Celestia didn't send back all those friendship reports, Discord would have won.
Don't remember Ahuizotl. When I think "Ahuizotl", I think of the sea dragon creature that changes territories to blue from "Culdcept".
(Psst. Jumper, you created a mini-boarder...) -
Fun fact about Discord... by

I don't know much about My Little Pony, but I do know that Discord's voice actor (John DeLancie) played a very similar character in Star Trek named Q, who is also one of the best villains--if you can call him that. I always thought of him as a trickster rather than a true villain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q_(Star_Trek)
-

I've never seen Star Trek (I feel weird admitting it), but I heard Lauren Faust was actually inspired by Q to make Discord. She was very exited when she got John DeLancie to voice him.
Well, Discord is the embodiment of chaos. A lot of his work may just be natural for him. -

We should get into each other's fandoms. Welcome to the PPC! Hope you have fun, which is likely, considering your enthusiasm. I see some other Boarders have addressed that, so I won't. I hope this misunderstanding doesn't keep you away from the PPC. I'll tell you something--I only joined the Board only because I saw that hanging around for some time was necessary for getting Permission to write missions. Then I joined, and I realized that I enjoyed this community, and I didn't even have to write any missions. I don't have Permission yet, and I'm fine, because I love being part of the community.

Welcome to our little board. Though, with all the new people coming in, it won't be small at all shortly.
Woah, a sporking in the works already? Slow down partner, ya got to get a little known around here before you jump to mission making. Kitty spelled it out fairly well. Still, good to see you are at least enthusiatic. Good trait in a PPC member. Still, perhaps a simple MST would do? Afterall, MST's alow you to snark your way through the whole fic, which is pretty fun.
Now comes the time for questions. These questions must be answered, or else nothing can go on. Exept everything can still go on, I would just be disapointed. So, here are your questions:
1. What are your fandoms?
2. How did you find the PPC?
3. Since you want to do missions, what department do you want to work in, or do you not know?
4. Have you read the constitution?
5. Have you read The Original Seres?
Answer those, and we should all get along swimingly. Oh, and if Anonymous is you, make sure to either make an acount or remember to fill the Author box each time you post. -
Hello, Blu! by

Erm... are you considering doing a mission as a member of the PPC? Because it's generally better if you:
-Hang around for a while - no specific time, but long enough for us to get to know you a bit.
-Read as many missions as you can (well, okay, at least enough to see how different departments do different things).
-Read stuff on the Wiki (because the Wiki is full of funny pages).
-Ask for Permission before creating your first agent pair (and there's even a Wiki page all about Permission, for your convenience and whatnot).
-Maybe even cowrite in the meantime (just make sure your cowriting partner/s has/have Permission)!
...and then do some sporkings (which I assure you are totally worth the wait).
On the other hand, you can spork something without affiliating yourself with the PPC, and you don't need Permission or that. Other Boarders probably know more about that approach than I do, though. :D

You say you've done the things Kitty listed.
-Hang around for a while - no specific time, but long enough for us to get to know you a bit.
Since this is basically your introduction post, haven't had any chance to get to know you.
-Read stuff on the Wiki (because the Wiki is full of funny pages).
Hum... not sure about that, especially combined with the next point.
-Ask for Permission before creating your first agent pair (and there's even a Wiki page all about Permission, for your convenience and whatnot).
See the point above. Had you read and understood that page, you'd know how a Permission request works.
-Maybe even cowrite in the meantime (just make sure your cowriting partner/s has/have Permission)!
I kind of doubt you did that one.
You really should get acquainted with the community before storming head first into things. -

Uhm, without wanting to gang up on you (we're only trying to help, Ellipsis and I), lurking doesn't really help us get to know you. See, part of getting Permission is being well-known enough by others on the Board that we're familiar with your fandoms, how you handle some of the more inflammatory badfic alerts (like the multi-mission one involving Mulan, which I failed miserably with), and, erm... well, overall writing skill, really. If the Permission Givers aren't comfortable about those sorts of things, you probably won't get Permission.
Give it about a month (give or take a few days) of interacting with us here on the Board, then give the Permission thing a whirl. :D -

Or Valhalla, Nirvana, whichever celestial realm of healing and purity you prefer.
(Of course, Valhalla is more of an eternal Boot Camp for the Ragnarok, but whatever.)
But I understand the idea here - send a Sue to a massively celestial land, and all the healing magics and energies just pulverize the glitter out of her system until she's all human, right? -

You get the idea.
(The Nexus is not Heaven, though. In fact, it used to be something like Purgatory in Wolf-Prince-Leon's mythology. He is a complicated man, and my teenage brain cannot handle his genius, so forgive my shoddy explanation.) -
Oh, mythology is always a tad muddled. by

My mythology in the Chronicles of Zeyr holds that the galaxy Zeyr is located in was created by five lesser gods as an experiment with empowering mortals from the start and seeing how that messed with natural evolution.
Then, these same gods created a race of immortal peacekeepers to both keep the subjects from destroying themselves and take notes on the finer details of the project, and when they first encountered mortals, they were mistaken as the gods who created the galaxy.
There's also three different Celestial Realms that you might end up at after death.
Eldraec (immortal protectors) go to the Land of Souls, which is like a vast kingdom of platinum and diamond (two materials that are extremely rare in Zeyr), but which is barred from humans by a huge staircase and gate in the middle of an impossibly complex, fog-ridden forest.
Humans and Elves go to the Issenfeir, which is... well, look up "Asgard Too Human" in google image search. It's a bit like that.
Eldraec Champions go to Verrüan, which can basically be called your buddy's Nexus, only sans the humans-to-animals part, and it's guarded by an indestructible wall around its circumference.
So yeah, mythology is tricky. But, it's also good fun. -

From what I understand (anyone, feel free to add onto- or correct anything), the canon doesn't snap back into place until the Sue is dead - otherwise her influence continues on, no matter what shape or minor mishap befalls her.
Along that same vein, if it's one of those 'dramatic death' Sues - or any Sue that dies in the end - you have to kill them before they can die as their story would have them do, because otherwise their death sort of stamps the Suefluence onto the canon and makes a much larger headache for those of us protecting the canon in question. -
I'm not sure that's strictly true... by

My understanding is that canon won't snap back until the Sue's presence/influence has been removed - certainly killing them is one way (and probably the easiest way by far) of achieving that, but simply taking them out of the continua of the fic should also work.
Obviously, the Flowers don't approve of taking Sues into other canons, but I'm pretty sure that I've read missions where the Sue has been captured alive and taken to DMSE&R instead of being killed (although I can't actually find them now, so I may be talking nonsense).
But yeah, if the Sue is supposed to die as part of her story, then the agents have to get there first. -

An agent who doesn't like violence would be interesting - might s/he later be transferred to a non-violent department somewhere down the line (such as the Department of Intelligence, which investigates but does not kill badfics)?
If by euthanasia you mean poisoning the Sue's food... it would certainly be entertaining to read! :D
(Not sure where to find that one... Also, you don't have to capitalize 'agent' all the time; only when it's part of a title, as in 'Agent Suchandsuch'.) -

Well, a lot of it will depend on what world your agent is in at the time, but poisons should work pretty much anywhere. Other than that, anything done quickly enough should be relativly painless for the Sue: decapitation by sword, gunshot to the head or heart, snapped neck etc.
Although if your agent is wanting to avoid actual violence as well as just unnecessary suffering, then poisons might be his best bet. Or some kind of stun weapon (if available) before the actual assassination, or he could just let his partner handle that particular task. -

Favorite OCs? by

So, I was going over some characters in my head late last night, and I suddenly discovered that two of my characters were really rather stellar.
These three characters were:
Seth Beldan - Seth is one of the Nine Traitors in the Chronicles of Zeyr; that is, one of the nine innocent people who were arrested in a preemptive attempt by a villain to remove threats before they knew they were threats. Out of all nine of the Traitors, Seth is among the friendliest. From the start, he was the owner of a legitimate business, and treated all his customers equally, even if he hated them - which was difficult for him and his natural sunny demeanor to pull off anyhow. Seth detests war, and became physically ill after each conflict where his squad was involved. Upon being arrested, Seth made it a point to leave a good impression on all of his fellow to-be-executed convicts, even going against the racism towards elves to try and help Ki'Eran, who admitted that Seth was perhaps the only human he didn't despise. When the group was escaping and Demara was struck by debris, Seth was almost incapable of continuing his flight from danger. The list goes on, but it's not often I make a character so downright saintly, let's just say.
Denestra Demara - Where Seth is the friendliest of the Traitors, Demara is one of the most level-headed to match his well-mannered nature. Born with a high concentration of magic, Demara had to learn how to stabilize his thoughts in order to control his powers, and so took up an interest in debates, psychology, statistics, rational judgements, and other brain skills that served to give him a mental edge over his opponents. Though Demara is weak in the physical sense, he is very much a combat pragmatist, and can certainly go below the belt if it helps him win.
So what's this topic about?
Easy!

In my first post, I accidentally wrote that there were three characters instead of two.
Let me just correct this by mentioning:
Drake Ironpoint - In a series with a cast including the world's unluckiest woman, an egotistical sorcerer, a seafaring captain that reeks Aura of Smooth, and a Mercenary With a Heart of Gold, Drake stands alone as really the only normal person of the group. Even despite being born an Animagus to a family of high-end Animagi, Drake prefers living a simple life and practicing the skills of a huntsman over his natural-born talents. In a fight, Drake only resorts to magic when he absolutely has no other choice. Despite the inherent danger of being romantically involved with the Iron Butt Monkey of the cast, Drake keeps a healthy, humorous and natural relationship with Iris, partially on account of his saving her life once, and his ability to turn most bad situations into comedic ones. -

Well, I'd have to say that I really like my character Deryn Salir, a bodyguard for the supernatural elite. I used to RP as her, but eventually I revised her occupation so that she worked for a consulting exorcism firm. She's a very sassy, impulsive character that gets into a lot of trouble when she runs her mouth,, which is often. I decided to change her occupation when I realised that bodyguards would have to be a good deal more thoughtful and stoic than she was.

My favorite OC ever, who has, by now, accumulated a fair share of adventures and oddities.
Jack - Jack's from my original 'verse. In the beginning, he was a recurring side character, but eventually he got his own batch of stories he's featured in.
He's a Computer Science teacher in a boarding school and leads a secret life as an (in)famous hacker.
He's kind of a genius, but he's always been hiding that fact since, even in that world, being the smart kid in school gets insults (and more material things) thrown at you. He later returned to his old school as a teacher, mainly because he felt like he needed to rise the average quality of Computer Science teachers there.
Most of the time, he's goofing around and can get a bit arrogant, but he knows when things are serious and will call you out on it. He's also very protective of children, especially those in his school.
There's tons of story and background details about this character, to the point of ending up as almost-Sue on the Litmus Test. Most of that comes from him being one of my favorite character, so that I keep adding details and things that happened. Given the world and the fact that he's best friends with the 'verse's weirdness magnet, strange things are bound to happen to him.
I'll stop here before I go on rambling any more. -

From someone else's works I'd have to admit I adore Samantha Carter - who is, actually, not the Sam Carter you're probably thinking of. She's from "The Secret Life of John Watson", and she is just really hilarious and realistic and provides good insight into what it'd actually be like to date John Watson. Her friends are amazing and their interactions remind me of my interactions with my own friends. It's fantastic.
Anyway... in my own terms I think I really like Takara from the International Academy of Hetalia Fanfiction. Truth be told she was modelled off an OC from the Hetalia Facebook Roleplay group I used to be a part of, and this OC had been a good character up until she murdered my character (who, by the way, was Hugh Fraser), and I realised she... well. She was the daughter of England and Japan, had a speshul necklace, was dating a human diplomat, got away with a lot of crap, and was pretty and witty and seemingly innocent (she hoarded yaoi). And really, her entire thing of shipping Hugh with his colleague Charlie (who also shows up in IAHF) should've been ...ing annoying, yet he kinda put up with it and I thought that was a bit unfair (and a bit unrealistic). So when I started writing Takara, I changed her into a shy nurse who has a crush on Hugh (and is an orphan, but apparently her parents were English and Japanese, not necessarily England and Japan), and who faces the consequences of taking Aura of Smooth to seduce him - most of the school thinking she's a turncoat and a pregnancy to boot. She was one of the characters that grew the most in her short time in IAHF, I think, and despite the fact that he'd been Suefluenced at first to sleep with her, I think Hugh harbours affections for her (though that may stem from respect for her handling the aftermath of the entire fiasco with maturity and not from, say, some demented Suvian Stockholm Syndrome). -

I'm currently working on an adaptation of Sherlock Holmes in the Redwall universe, because the only thing better than a modern spin on it is a spin on it with badass medieval furries. While the characters are inevitably based on some character of the SH canon, I'm trying to make them my own, both in terms of a few personality traits and backstory, so that they feel very Redwall-flavor.
Quindon Russet is the Watson, a young squirrel who, as of the beginning of the story, recently left the services of the Long Patrol. (There are a number of reasons I didn't make him a hare, one of which being that the Baskerville story takes place in Southsward with the royal squirrels, and a plot point in the original is that someone mistakes Watson for Sir Henry and warns him off, which clues him in.) In this, I made Quindon a bit of a free spirit, which aside from his crippled footpaw drives him to leave the Long Patrol at all. His other main weakness besides the limp is a crippling fear of water, which I couldn't resist giving him to give the inevitable Reichenbach scene more tension, as well as to add comedic scenes when Damon Thorn (Holmes) drags a protesting squirrel onto a boat for some reason or other. Also, the friendship between the two leads is an unlikely one, and almost doesn't happen at all since Thorn is a ferret. In fact, the first thing Quindon does upon seeing Thorn is attack him. Of course, right afterward Thorn drags him to the scene of a murder and asks for his healer's opinion, and that is the start of a beautiful friendship.
Halftail is the Wiggins of the story, a tough, scrappy rat child who leads a small gang of equally young and scruffy rats in Mossflower Woods. At one time they had aspirations for infamy as a feared band of cutthroats, but age and inexperience threatened to get them all killed or pressed into a horde before long. Luckily, Damon Thorn found them before then. Halftail was suspicious at first, but Thorn offered them proper clothing, food, shelter, and medicine if need be, in exchange for the gang's services as his spies, informants, and messengers. Over the course of a few seasons, Halftail warmed up to the ferret and became incredibly loyal to him. He and his gang, now dubbed the Baker's Tavern Irregulars when they're out of earshot, address Thorn as "Chief". He's a bit wary about this strange squirrel joining things, but he gets used to Quindon after a while.
Finally, Shad Swiftpaw and Ivy are a pair of weasel friends that frequent the Baker's Tavern and often give Thorn information about the various villains and ruffians he has to contend with in his adventures, being as they are from a less than desirable background themselves. Shad was a former hordebeast and Ivy used to sing and dance in seaside taverns, and both of them still have connections with old comrades and fellow scoundrels. They're based off of Kitty Winter and Shinwell Johnson, two characters that showed up in only one Sherlock Holmes story, but I liked them so much that I decided to make them recurring minor characters. -

I've made Sherlock (or Sílchanar) a elvish "consulting Ranger" and John (or Hanncome) his Hobbit healer/writer companion and it is actually so much fun trying to place the BBC Sherlock canon into Middle-earth. There has to be changes, given that the cases take place in different parts of Middle-earth and that it takes place between the Hobbit and LotR (so it has to set up the LotR plot and stuff).
Don't judge me it's fun. -

I made Sherlock and Mycroft (Damon and Micah Thorn) a pair of very rare "good" ferrets, G. Lestrade (Gareth Lutra) is the local Skipper of Otters, and I even threw in Stanley Hopkins as the young Abbey warrior Tobias Hopbine. Ferret!Mycroft's fun. Instead of an antisocial government employee he's the Abbey's recluse of a Librarian. The Badger Lady takes the place of Queen Victoria, whenever gypsies are mentioned they are usually Guosim shrews, MAN it is so fun to put Sherlock Holmes in Mossflower!

Even though I don't know much about Redwall outside OFUR.
I've got Mycroft (Maechenebon) as a "minor advisor to Lord Elrond" and Moriarty (Morfindir, amid various other Lore Names) as a Noldorin smith who had been in the Gwaith-i-Mirdan prior to Sauron's deception, and he turned wicked because of Sauron's treachery, the Rings of Power/lesser rings that he had helped to make, and his own lust for power. And my Lestrade (Lestedir) is one of the Dunedain. :'D
Are you adapting any of the more well-known cases, or is it a new case altogether? I'm basically going through the BBC Sherlock canon, although I add in elements from the ACD canon, and I'm also planning on doing His Last Bow and The Empty House. -

Though I am throwing in elements and nods to the BBC series. I'm still working on A Study In Scarlet, but I'm planning to do some of my old favorites, like The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Illustrious Client, The Naval Treaty, The Dying Detective, and of course The Final Problem/Empty House. I've been wracking my brain for how to do The Speckled Band, because in the Redwall world, vipers are enormous monstrosities that can't be tamed or hidden in a safe, so I'm thinking of using a poisonous spider instead.
Ooh, are you going to toss Silchanar and Morfindir over Rauros? -

But before that I'd like to get the other bits of The Reichenbach Fall into it. Perhaps something of a denunciation to Lord Elrond/The White Council...

I'm thinking I probably won't have a Mary Morstan in mine, because for one thing I'm not sure if I want to do The Sign of Four, and for another, I haven't really planned for the character in my big picture view of how this fic is going to go down.
I'm thinking of doing The Dying Detective a bit like this other fic I read once, where Watson gets to the boobytrapped box before Holmes can warn him about it, which gives Holmes a very tight time limit to solve the case and get Culverton Smith to give him a cure. Of course, that fic also ended with a lemon, and I highly doubt that mine will. -
I also considered... by

adding an element of the Three Garridebs into The Great Game, where a bunch of orcs (controlled by Moriarty) wound John and Sherlock panics - it'd definitely help pave the way for things of a more... romantic nature? I want my Sherlock and Watson to develop a love that's caught somewhere between Aragorn and Arwen and Legolas and Gimli, so yeah.
Unfortunately I don't foresee much a role for Mary in mine outside keeping John and Sherlock apart until her death (which will, I think, happen before Bilbo's 111th birthday party, which I'm also planning on writing about from John's POV.) -

Oh, the other story I'm intent on doing is the Charles Augustus Milverton case, because of all the great Holmes/Watson moments there are. Watson grabbing a chair to beat up Milverton, later accepting the possibility of jail time for Holmes' sake, to say nothing of all the hand-holding. I fully intend to ship-tease the daylights out of these two without actually making things blatant. Also, one of my online friends who absolutely loves this idea let me borrow one of his Redwall characters whose MO is blackmail to put in the role of Milverton.

So, what with our Chinese spammer over there, I figure this is as good a time as any for another round of Recursive Translations! (first round here: http://disc.yourwebapps.com/discussion.cgi?id=199610;article=225034;search_term=recursive+translation)
Basically, you take a chunk of badfic, toss it through a variety of Google Translates, and see what comes out.
First up: From 'Avatar: Revenge of the Fire Bending Assassin'
"Underneath the Fire nation palace, there was a prison, but had chains on the door and fire proof walls and doors and inside it was a girl with long brown hair up to her hips wearing black and silver assassins clothes ( Ezio's Assassin's clothes at the beginning of Brotherhood but in black and silver) with two swords, two hidden blades, 20 throwing knives and a crossbow, who had a tan and was 16 years old
The girl was Zuko's and Azula's forgotten sister, called Felix who had betrayed her Father the king Ozia by using force against him and ended up here in the prison but not for long since the failed invasion left a lot of damage and the king wasn't around yet so she got up bringing out her sword and stabbed straight through the door and started cutting it until there was a shape big in of to fit through and left till she was away from the Fire nation
"I will return King Ozia" she vowed blasting herself towards the Western Air Temple, unknown to her that Zuko and the Avatar gang were"
And, after English-Czech-Georgian-Irish-Arabic-Japanese-English:
"Assassination at the beginning and murder black brethren uniform (on the inside of the girl with the long edge of brown hair, the Land of Fire, the palace was a prison blade 2 hidden, and he was in the door and the firewall and door chain wear the cash) and black money, crossbows and throwing knives 20, Ezio who is, and was 16 years old, and two swords
Forget sister Azula and actress Olivia Newton, a girl called Felix betrayed his father, King Ozia with use of force against him, came here in prison, but not for long, he is serious damage king, so was not around, and yet was not able to be passed, began carved in great shape through the suit and stabbed straight through the door, stand up from your sword like that, he from the Land of Fire went away
I promised myself the injection Western Air Temple "and will Ozia King", There is not, it was a gang of symbolism and actress Olivia Newton" -
I would like to partake in the fun too. by

Here's one from "The Legend of Linka - Twilight Princess" by wild and free 500. Freshly gathered from FanFiction.net
The result is pure, utterly confusing gold.
Original:
"Get up you lazy piece of crap!" Linkas dad yelled at her.I, Linka yawned a stood up. I was not the one to be afraid,
especially a person like my father bent down as if to fix his shoelace , then stood up and whacked me in the face. I fell, my face bloody from his long fingernails. He started yelling at me, and usually I am was silent. But
not today I yelled: Your the piece of crap! All I want is love from you and I get NOTHING BUT HATRED! Then my father grabbed me by my shirt and yelled: "I never wanted a girl in fact I never wanted a child!" I fell back, tears sprung from my eyes. My father had some hurtful things, but this was too much. I ran out of the house, slamming the screen door behind her. Vowing to never come back."Im going to the godess woods" I said. 'no one ever is sad there!" I ran till she came up to the woods, but something was different. I gasped as I saw a huge wall of black blocking my path.I reached out to touch it, something grabs her and before I knew it i was in the woods, but it was dark with monsters everywhere. The mutent monster choking me smelled of burning flesh, I noticed the
triangle on my hand started to glow. Blinded by the light, the monster threw me, I landed with aching pain. I was on her hands and knees, and soon enough found her self fainted. Linka heard a shriek and stood up. She shook her head, and looked around. Her body felt different, strange in a way, she looked down saw four paws, and a wolf like tail.
"Im chained!" She tried to get out at a extreme state of panic she looked up, an imp like creature is staring at me. with nowhere to run, I growled , metal hard teeth bared with anger and the imp like creature came infront of her. "I found you!" she said excitedly. "What are you?!" I yelled. "Not importent!" She exclaimed. " I need you, you see I have need some things. and I need your help little wolf." "My name is Linka!" I howled at her. "Linka?!" she yelled. "Are by any chance related to link?" "My abusive father? then yes!" The little imp looked as if in deep thought.
"Well whatever!" the imp said. "You MIGHT be useful. And listen" she grabbed my ear back. "you have to be my servant
because I know how to get you back to the light world". "That way you wont need to hang around the twilight creatures anymore." "Like you?" I put her hands on her hip, gave an cocky smile and said: "You want out or not little wolf?" "Out please!" I snarled. The imp clasps her hands together and sent out a ray of blackness. I flinched the darkness making my head hurt. For 5 seconds I could not think. My mind filled with only fear. When I was able to open my eyes the chain was gone, I was out of my cell. But their was something heavy on my back. I looked at my back,
the imp was on my back, riding me like a horse! extremely offended, I tried to throw her off, she grabbed my ear, which made me stop. "Listen! if it would help my name is Midna. And i expect you to EXACTLY what I say. "besides" Midna said. I have the key to you way back and you wouldn't want to give that up would you now?" she did a little girl giggle.
I looked Midna over. Yes she was some form an imp. She wore a hatthat was black rock, with many designs. She was gray but had a black like vest shaped black over her arms and chest. Big yellow eyes and a little pointy tooth sticking out of her mouth. I looked at her and said fine Midna. She grinned like she is evil. She probably is,I thought. Im crazy to do it. But as if compelled by an evil Power, I looked at her and said "Yes, I will". "Good ,thats what in thought." She giggled her little girl giggle. And flew off my back to the mid air, and threw her hand to the ground and a blue and black portal appeared.
I flinched as I felt the evil power overcome me. She went into the portal and told me to follow. I did. My head aching.
Suddenly my whole body turned to little black suddenly I felt life again and slowly my body become itself again. I thought the land of Hyrule might be bad. But as Midna settled on my back with a hard thud.I looked at my surroundings. I nearly fainted as I saw the Sky all black. Little black squares rising all around me. Mutent evil creatures and birds everywhere. Midna put a dark force around me, to keep me from falling from shock. She did an evil smile showing her nasty collection of strange teeth. and whispered in my ear "Its perfect".

...used a passage from "My Immortal", with spelling corrected?
The original passage:
"Hi my name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and I have long ebony black hair (that's how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Amy Lee (AN: if you don't know who she is get the hell out of here!). I'm a vampire but my teeth are straight and white. I have pale white skin. I'm also a witch, and I go to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I'm in the seventh year (I'm seventeen). I'm a goth (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and red eye shadow. I was walking outside Hogwarts. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them."
After an English-Swahili-Bulgarian-Dutch-Estonian-Latin-English translation:
"Greetings, my name is Black, and I do Dark'ness Raven for a long time DEMENTIA ebony black hair (that's how I got my name) with purple and red tips of the rod can reach him, my eyes back towards the icy blue and is clear of the people, like many of my tears Friend horakazhi the faces of Tacitus and that it is (it is not that, if any). I Am GOTH (in case you we can not say), and I have come to wear more black. I do love hot, and I buy all my clothes there. From "An Unexpected Companion":
His gaze settled on Kestrel, and something made her breath hitch in her throat. Was it fear? She couldn't be sure. But whatever it was, whether it was his commanding presence or the pair of stormy gray eyes that were locked on her own, it left her unable to speak. "Show me what it is you're carrying with you.", he said firmly. It was clear to Kestrel that this was not a request. She cautiously opened the hand that had been clenched around the beautiful necklace. The necklace that she had gazed into as the world evaporated around her.
And after English-Norwegian-Arabic-Hindi-French-Czech-Chinese-Japanese-English:
Kestrel blocking breathing was calm eyes and throat. Fear? He also can not be sure. However, all the rest of the eye of the storm primer gray seals, lock her silence. "Let me see what you need with you is you." She said firmly. Obviously, it does not require a kestrel. Gorgeous necklace, hand, carefully opened. From "It's not a blender it's a coffeemaker!", one of the fics I'm planning to spork,.
Original:
She held herself with an air of pride, and arrogance. She was tall and slender, and could strike jealousy even in the most dead of men, and she was graceful. Her eyes shifted colors of the rainbow, or could be held at will, her hair was a rich mahogany waterfall that shimmered down her back. She wore only what most mortal men would call a bikini, it wasn't it was a senya, she wore a sheer fabric skirt over her hips with a leather belt from which hung a scabbard holding the Excalibur blade, bangles moved with grace around her wrists and ankles, accented by the sheer shawls she wore over her shoulders and the chandelier earring she wore. She was sent by her royal council to assist a Starfleet flag ship as they crossed a terrain in space known for illness and sickness curable only by the rumored beautiful Elvic healers.
After English-Spanish-Greek-Lithuanian-Hebrew-Haitian Creole-English:

From 'Allyson's Journey', a Harry Potter Badfic:
"15-year-old Allyson Persephone Mandell is sitting in her front yard, on a lawn chair, enjoying the beautiful weather of March 17, 2010. She has her iPod on, blasting Two is Better Than One by Boys Like Girls (A/N: I love this song, if you haven't heard it, look it up). She's been out there for about 15 minutes, staring at the flawless, blue sky when, quite unexpectedly, she notices a brown and white speckled owl flying towards her. 'What is an owl doing out in the middle of the day in Wisconsin?' she thinks to herself. The owl flies straight up to her and lands on the ground. It looks expectantly up at her and lifts it's leg. She sees the letter tied there and carefully, as to not hurt the bird, unties the letter. Once it is free, the owl flies away. 'Strange.' she internally muses.
Opening the letter, she reads what is written, in elegant, curvy script.
Allyson,
You are very special to the wizarding world. I know you have no idea what this means, but bare with me. You, if you wish, will be taken from your time, which will be frozen, and thrown into the past, 1975 to be exact, where you will become a student and learn all about magic. Please, consider it and I know you'll do the right thing. If you accept, say the spell, out loud, that's written at the bottom of this note, which will then become a port-key and take you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in 1975. There you must go through the front doors, and follow the stairs. Upon reaching the third level, follow the hallway until you reach the Gargoyle statue. The password is 'Licorice Wands' and you will be allowed entry. Give this letter to me, Professor Dumbledore, and I will help you from there.
Thank you, Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Spell:Vii mind tagasi*, Fifteen June Nineteen Seventy-Five
Shrugging her shoulders, and pulling out her headphones, putting her iPod in her pocket, she stands up and recites the spell. Sure enough, she is surrounded by a bright blue light and begins to spin."
And after being put through English-Danish-Hebrew-Arabic-Norwegian-Serbian-English, this is what comes out:
"Persephone Alison Mandel 15 years sitting in your yard, garden chair, and enjoy the beautiful weather of 17 March 2010. Let your iPod with another blast of the best boys and girls, one by one, like (/ N: I love this song, if you heard it, check it out). The owl flew right in the face and fell to the ground. It looked at her expectantly and increases bone. See the cover letter and care so that they do not harm the birds, solves this message. Once free, the owl flew away. "It's strange." Internal reflection.

From "The orcs tale" by Ladiesman567:
My heart pounded fast in my chest and I stopped breathing, it was like all air was being sucked out of me. Suddenly, I saw it, a giant, grumpy old orc, with a face like a bucket of mud. Fist clenched around the hilt of my sword, I moved forward towards the creature. "What makes you think you have the right to be on our land" the orc growled viciously. Scowling I answered "This is as much my land as it is yours, more even you gargantuan beast"
"Oh yeah" answered the orc, and without warning he hit me. That was it I, pulled out my sword and ran it through the putrid beast's heart, but, unexpectedly, it gave the orc no damage! Filled with rage, the oaf punched me with the hand that was embedded with the burning blade symbol. Again I stabbed it; only this time in the face, and when I finished only a skull was left. The veins in the old idiots head were visible even in the dark, and the ground was covered with green blood. Lady Proudmoore may not abide this behaviour, but that was not going to stop me, and then again what the Lady did not know could not hurt her. On my way back to Northwatch I ran into Colonel Lorena "What have you been doing out late Kristoff? She said in a somewhat terrifying voice. Lost for words I just stared at her in shock "Just been having a walk" I finally rasped, petrified and horrified. Lorena looked disgusted; I knew I was in trouble "At 4 in the morning that is relentlessly uncivilized." Hoping upon hopes that she did not know what I had done I answered "Just had to clear my head, what with all this hustle going on." Luckily for me before she could answer there was a distant howl in the surroundings of Northwatch, I just hoped it was not too dangerous. Somewhere in the darkness I heard growling and a touch of breathing and then a full frontal howl "HOOOOWWWWL"
Lorena screamed "WOLF" in a high pitched voice, and breathed a meitres scroll incantation and instantly she and I appeared in the throne room of Lady Proudmoore's castle. Stunned at the fact that Lorena could do such a spell I hardly even noticed the form of Lady Proudmoore on her throne. After what seemed like hours to me, Lorena finally awoke Lady Proudmoore, and said "So sorry to wake you at this hour but in my nightly search for oncoming demons and humanoids I found Kristoff snooping around." My blood turned to ice when Lady Proudmoore looked both tired and also very cross. After a few moments the Lady finally said" Why exactly have you been wondering these parts?" It took me a while to think of an excuse but finally I answered "Just needed to clear my head." As well as Lorena, Lady Proudmoore did not believe what the chamberlain was babbling on about but he was a respected adviser so…. There was an awkward silence for a while, but Lorena broke the silence by saying "Since we have no proof that Kristoff was doing nothing I think he should be banned from leaving the palace." I was quite annoyed that Lorena was trashing me but she could be a lot stricter! Even though Lady Proudmoore looked like she wanted nothing less than to do this but she still said "That, I think, is quite reasonable so you are banned from leaving the palace Kristoff." The next morning I planned to go to the docks but then remembered that I was expelled to the palace, I signed then I collapsed on my bed and almost instantly went back to sleep. An orc was running at me and then it cut my head off….AAGGHH! I screamed I had just witnessed the most petrifying dream I had ever had! Hiding my head in my hands, trying to remember every detail was almost impossible, it was so long and wide. Just as I was about to go for a walk I remembered what The Lady had said so I just got dressed and joined the others in the dining hall downstairs. There was (oh the shame of it) only porridge left tut tut. The Lady said "Did you sleep well"
After English-Spanish-Arabic-Hebrew-French-English:
My heart was pounding in my chest and breathing, as if all the air out of me thrown. Suddenly, I saw a big old anger York, with a face like a bucket of Batz. Grasp the handle of the sword, I walked towards the creature. "What makes you think that you have the right to be on our land," growled furiously York. Frowning said: "This is my land, as for you, more giant monster"
"Oh, yes," replied York, and hit me without warning. I did, and I took the sword and my heart rotten animal, but, unexpectedly, all ORC damaged! Auf filled with rage, struck with the hand that has been integrated into a fire code sheet. A stabbed once, but this time in the face, and when I finished the skull was abandoned. veins Old idiots head visible even in the dark, and the ground was covered with green blood. Mrs. brave does not support this behavior, but I do not want to stop, then again he did not know the woman did not was injured. On the way back, I met Colonel Northwatch and Renee "What the late Christopher? Said its scary to some extent. Is lost for words seemed little in shock, "I just had to roll," and finally a hoarse voice., And Reina petrified disgust and shock, and I knew that I was hoping she hopes disorder does not know what he was doing, he replied: "I just had to clear my head, so" at four in the morning, it is a relentless culture. "All this is happening emotionally." Lhmzl before I could answer, there was a long complaint Northwatch, I just hope it is not too serious. Somewhere in the darkness, I heard grunts and a touch of breath and then howling at the full "HOOOOWWWWL"
Renee cried "wolf" in a loud voice, and breathed magic meitres immediately turned and went to the throne of the manor Lady Proudmoore. Lorna was surprised by the fact that this wave might not notice how courageous lady chair. After what seemed like an hour, Lady Proudmoore and Reina finally woke up, he said: "I'm sorry I was awake at this hour, but my request to be demons during the night and inhalation Christoph humanoid" turns ice in my blood, when it became Lady Proudmoore fatigue and also crosses. Mrs. After a few moments finally said, "what I was a student here?" It took some time to think of an excuse, but finally said, "I just need to clear my head." In addition, Lorna, do not think Lady Proudmoore server was babbling on about but he was a highly respected advisor .... There was a awkward silence for a while, but Lorna broke the silence and said: "As we have no evidence that it was not something you think we should Christoph allowed to leave the palace" irritates me that you destroy the Lorena, but can be much more difficult! Although the lady looks Proudmoore He wanted nothing less than to do, but said: "That, I think, is probably what is allowed to leave the palace Christophe." In the morning, the intention of go to the port, but then remembered the position, he was banished from the palace, then collapsed on the bed and fell asleep almost immediately. Ran ORC and cut my head off and then .... AAGGHH! screamed because the most terrifying dream I've ever had! He buried his head in his hands, trying to remember every detail was almost impossible, as long as wide. while I was about to take a trip remember what he had said lady, and then I just got dressed and joined the others in the dining room on the ground floor. Summer (oh the shame) strawberry strawberry oatmeal just left. Dame said: "Sleep- you well "

Permission Request by
on 2013-01-13 04:15:00 UTC
Link to this
I have read the Permission page on the wiki several times. So here goes:
Agent Profiles (Tanya is my self-insert and Joani is Apricot's, but I'm the main writer)
Name: Tanya Verde
Age: Older than Joani
Species: Human
Home Continuum: Real World
Department: DMS
Division: Star Trek (yes, it exists)
RC: 1966
Partner: Joani Verde
Fandom(s): Star Trek, TNG preferred (and many more fandoms, not really relevant)
Lust Objects: Spock, Data, Harry Kim, Vorik,
Favorites: The lust objects, also Q, Deanna Troi, Picard, Seven of Nine, Geordi LaForge, Janeway, Chekov
Weapon(s): She prefers to use poetic justice, but she carries a phaser rifle just in case. Though sometimes she forgets that it's a ranged weapon and clubs the Sue over the head with it. Oops.
Appearance: On the shortish side (5'4") and curvy. Brown eyes and brown hair would make her look generic, but her hair is shoulder length and wildly curly. Not particularly fit or coordinated, the only way she can use a phaser rifle is with 24th century aiming technology. She is absolutely useless with any other weapon (think Bilbo Baggins in the Hobbit movie "If I scream and wave my sword around maybe the goblins won't come near me!") She tends to wear the standard PPC black because it's easy, but she likes jewelry and steals it off Sues when she gets a chance. Also, her signature fluffy purple hat.
Personality: Simple physics: a Tanya at rest will stay at rest until a force acts upon her. She is quiet and introverted, but if she perceives that something is wrong with the world she will start to protest. Loudly, with some but not complete situational awareness. This passion comes from Star Trek ideals of justice, and Sues who go against any of Star Trek's messages is one of her biggest “Berserk Buttons”. She does care about people in general, but actually dealing with them, especially in big groups, makes her uncomfortable. She has one or more Lust Objects for each fandom she's into, and will be incredibly angry if a Sue messes with them. Messing with multiple lust objects or favorites makes her homicidal. Luckily, most of her favorite characters are logical, so telling her that she's being unreasonable or illogical has a surprisingly quick effect, as will saying "if you jump out there and kill the Sue you'll look like a homicidal crazy in front of [insert name of lust object/favorite]". Also, her last mission taught her a bit about looking before you leap. She likes routine in her life, and the PPC doesn't really provide that, and neither does her sister.
Pre-PPC: Average human geek on Earth, mother, father, sister (who becomes her partner). She fell through a plothole to HQ, and when her sister tried to investigate where she went she fell into the same plothole. She applied to the Star Trek division, and got it. This turned out not to be the stroke of good luck she thought it was.
PPC history: At the time of writing, she has been on her first mission, killing this Sue (links are to the author's profiles, read at your own risk) with a not-so-reformed Sue agent. The experience necessitated a visit to FicPsych and regular consumption of bleepolate, and instilled in her a hatred for Uncanonical Species!Sues and squick. Her partner went crazy.
Name: Joani Verde
Age: Younger than Tanya
Species: Human
Home Continuum: Real World
Department: DMS
Division: Star Trek
RC: 1966
Partner: Tanya Verde
Fandom(s): Star Trek, Voyager preferred (and many more fandoms, not really relevant)
Lust Objects: Vorik, Taurik, and any other cute random ensigns.
Favorites: The lust objects, also Q, Picard, Seven of Nine, Janeway, Data, Spock
Weapon(s): She likes the feeling of empowerment she gets when using a phaser rifle.
Appearance: Joani is two inches taller than Tanya and proud of it. She is skinny with long arms and legs. She has medium length brown hair (usually tied in a ponytail) and brown eyes. She has a scar above her left eye from a close encounter with the Borg in her last mission.
Personality: Joani is stubborn and opinionated. She complains about small discomfort, especially if it’s cold. She has a phobia of PPC technology after almost getting assimilated by the Borg, and she blames Makes-Things for occasionally hearing the voice of the Collective in her head. This results in banging-her-head-against-the-wall routines. However, when not dealing with the Borg or PPC technology, she is quite pleasant to people and is more sociable than her sister. She is easily distracted by small cute things, like small children or kittens. She tends not to react violently in badfic, rather, she becomes overly dramatic (much to Tanya’s annoyance, as she only reacts when there is a reason).
Pre-PPC: She went looking for her sister and fell into the same plothole leading to HQ.
PPC History: She applied to the Star Trek division, but was assigned to Despatch because a badfic involving a Sue transdimensionally snatching the Borg and the Enterprise-D had just been found, and they needed someone with Trek knowledge. She had to infiltrate a Borg cube, using a strategy from a Voyager episode where the characters allowed themselves to get assimilated but used some sort of mental blocker to stop it from taking over their minds. However, her CAD exploded, which indicated to the Borg that she and her partner weren't actually drones. They barely escaped, and the disguise proved tricky to remove, so she still has a scar and occasionally picks up Borg transmissions when in close proximity. She blames Makes-Things because he’d repaired the CAD just before it exploded.
Information
Their RC: The Star Trek division is the oldest division in the PPC, because Star Trek was where modern fandom and fanfiction started. Therefore, their RC is decked out in Star Trek style--sliding doors, console, replicator, arsenal of Star Trek weapons and gadgets, and every episode and movie ever made in a computer database (courtesy of the first agents in the RC, which programmed it to update itself when a new episode was produced. Star Trek: TOS was still running at the time, hence RC#1966). The RC might be a Trekkie's dream, but it's dusty from disuse, and some of the tech doesn't quite work (the door sticks, and the replicator sometime makes you a puddle of tea rather than a cup). Another thing the first agents did was program the console to go "WHEE-OO!" like the communications system on TOS. This annoys Tanya and Joani no end, as their favorite series are, respectively, TNG and Voyager. Not to mention that it is just as obnoxiously loud as “BEEP!”, and has the same sense of timing.
Interactions as Partners: Tanya and Joani are only paired together as siblings because of the lack of Star Trek agents and the Flowers wanted to see what would happen. Of course, this means that they don’t quite get along well. In many ways, they are complete opposites—Tanya likes routine, Joani is more flexible, Tanya is subdued and calm unless provoked, Joani is consistently lively and tends to overdramatize things, Tanya is a hardcore luster, Joani has few Lust Objects, Tanya is philosophical, Joani is bored by that sort of thing, Tanya is not very sociable, Joani enjoys social interaction, etc. And being siblings, they like to use their differences against each other, such as Joani interfering in Tanya’s routine or Tanya ignoring Joani when she’s being chatty. However, they do have each other’s backs, and they are agreed on important things like “Sues need to die” and “Star Trek is awesome”.

In celebration of your successful permission request, my main agents would like to provide your agents with a few items to help them on their missions (or around HQ, or wherever).
Eagrus sends Tanya and Joani a necklace each, with a 25% resist fire enchantment to reduce damage from exploding PPC tech, (also good against flamethrower-wielding agents, mad fire-mages, common species of dragon, mini-Balrogs etc.).
Cyba sends a pair of targeting glasses each, which also double as neuralyser protection and generally look cool.
Phi offers her assistance if required, and Sigma adds that you can borrow her ship, The Silver Hound, on the condition of her piloting (you think you also catch something about avoiding scratching of paintwork).
I look forward to your missions! -

Tanya says thanks for the necklace. It looks shiny. She likes shinies. Also, fireproof will definitely come in handy at some point.
She also thinks the shades make her look mysterious, but the effect is somewhat ruined, since she's wearing them with her purple hat.
She thanks Phi for offering to help, and says that she would be perfectly happy to have Sigma pilot if the occasion rises, since she can't tell left from right and would make a horrible starship pilot.
(And Tanya's writer would like to thank Boarder!Cyba for being so supportive of OFAS and for urging her to get Permission.) -

I wondered when you were going to ask. {= )
My only concern about the agents is that I'm not sure why Joani had to let herself get partially assimilated to infiltrate a Borg cube when the usual canon-cloaking-and-SEP-field effect ought to work just as well on Borg as on any other canons. Plus, it seems to me that "oh noes, we're Borg now!" is getting a bit tired, between Tawaki's Assimilation Crisis, Cyba's disguise generator mishap (and subsequent duplication), and now this. I don't want to deny you permission just on that basis—just because it's been done before doesn't mean it's bad or wrong—but I would encourage you and Apricot to reconsider Joani's backstory before you actually start writing. As huge as the Star Trek universe is, there has to be something besides Borg to give a character a scar and hangups about technology.
Everything else looks fine, and I love that their response center has its own backstory. I wonder if the previous occupants of RC #1966 and RC #999 ever hung out back in the day. The current occupants should absolutely meet up sometime. If you ever want to co-write a crossover mission, let me know. *g*

I'll think about Joani's backstory. I'll go see if I can find any badfic that could have been her last mission. The original fic was something I actually wrote many years ago involving the Borg invading my school. It was awful.

PPC-wise, the bit of most concern is really the logic behind Joani letting herself get partly assimilated in the first place, especially considering the risk to the multiverse if the mental blocker fails and the Borg get portal tech. It's just my personal opinion that HQ doesn't really need more Borgified agents, so you can take or leave that. {= )

*does happy dance at Permission* Thank you so much!
Joani's backstory--Well, Apricot and I first came up with these agents way back, before I even made my first post on the Board. So this was before Cyba's disguise generator accident and before we read the Assimilation Crisis. And the partially assimilated thing was used in the Voyager episode "Unimatrix Zero" which was a pretty awesome episode, so Pepper-Jack Cheese logic happened. At least, that's my side of it. I don't speak for my sister. She came up with her agent's backstory, so she'll have to figure it out.
The response center--I was expanding off the wiki saying that the Star Trek division was likely the first division. In fact, I decided to write PPC missions because I love missions and realized there weren't that many Star Trek ones. Write what you want to read, you know?
Co-write--I would love to! In fact, I already have a fic. It is a LOTR/Star Trek: TNG crossover with a Sue that I found a while ago, and when I went back looking for it I realized it would be perfect for a co-write with the DIC. But I feel like I want to get ahead on OFAS and write these first three missions before I do a co-write. And I also might want to do an interlude/mission dealing with Tanya's backstory. I say "interlude/mission" because I'll show it as a flashback. Maybe she'll be telling the story to Joani. Can I add that series of fics to the Bleepfic page? It seems bad enough to me, but then again I might just be sensitive to it. Anyway, enough rambling. I look forward to it! -

I'm not up for co-writing instantly, either, so that works out. I do have a good intro to a Trek mission already written for my agents, though. I'll save it. ^_^ Could I get a link to that fic in the meantime? And, is there any particular distance I ought to be in TNG for it? Don't want to let my agents down by not being up on the canon myself. {= )

I already added it to the Claimed Badfic list. I hope I'm not jumping the gun or anything. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7571905/1/ThanQ
And here's why it's sporkable: Sue helps Q in the episode where he loses his powers, upstaging Data in the process. His favor is to send Sue and the Star Trek characters to Middle-Earth as the Fellowship. There is no catch, they just have to follow the plot of Lord of the Rings, and as Sue is a fan (and, conveniently, the only one who knows the canon) she's dragging them around. Decent writing, but plotholes a mile wide and rampant OOC on the parts of Picard, Guinan, and Q.
I think seeing the episode "Deja Q" and having a general idea of what is in/out of character is all that's needed, and in rereading Ilraen's Journal, I see that he is qualified. Watching "Deja Q" will give you information on these characters and how they interact. Besides, it's a good episode and one of my personal favorites. -
Ah, I've actually seen that one. by
on 2013-01-16 19:23:00 UTC

I'll probably watch it again before we start, but still.
I've read up to chapter eight now, and though I wasn't sure at first how mission-worthy it is, Brooke just gets more and more annoyingly illogical as it goes on. I love how she has the nerve to call Picard insane when he finally puts his foot down and refuses to play anymore. You know, like he does in canon. And I don't blame him for thinking she's a little off her rocker. She really takes the whole thing far too seriously in all the wrong ways. This is just a game Q is playing with them; it's not really Middle-earth. Sheesh. O.o
I especially want to charge her for having a compound fracture with multiple bone fragments piercing the skin, and yet being able to walk on it the next day thanks to Elvish "healing magic." Sorry, but even the Elves aren't that good. That leg would never be the same again without literal divine intervention.
Also, she displays a woeful lack of basic survival skills on the mountain. I just didn't realize the entire senior staff (and Wesley) shared that deficiency. {= P
... So yeah, I'm in. ^_^; Let me know when you want to start!

My favorite part... by

Is the casting. Picard as Gandalf, Riker as Aragorn, Wesley as Frodo, and sort of Troi as Legolas I can see, but... Data and Geordi as Pippin and Merry? Dr. Crusher as Sam? Sue as Boromir? And, the worst: Q as Celeborn. I mean really, Q would settle for nothing less than Eru.
What worries me, though, is that the Sue is taking it seriously. Generally, the Sue is right within her own fic, so...this means that Q has brought her and the Star Trek characters to the "real" Middle-Earth, shoving the ENTIRE Fellowship and Celeborn and Galadriel into a plothole. BIG problem.
Of course, the canons, once rescued from plotholes, could be quite helpful in disposing of Sue. There are so many ways to kill her, though. I like the idea of doing something with Boromir.
But I'm getting way ahead of myself. *runs off to write OFAS* -

These seem alright to me. Of course, I'm not a PG, but your agents don't look overpowered and the DMS Star Trek division could really use some missions, so I'd rate your chances of success being fairly high.
Yay! A new OFAS chapter! You know, I really feel sorry for Data when he gets around to teaching. I also think teaching in a holodeck is a sensible idea - I don't think the students could be trusted near a proper warp core yet. The fan of crossovers (Ajax) is going to stir things up a bit, I suspect, too.
I'm still happy to do that OFAS co-write, when everything gets that far. An agent meeting would be amusing, too, actually - poor Joani might have a fit meeting any of my agents but Eagrus, though.
Anyway, good luck on your permission request, and I look forward to more OFAS!

Hi guys :) Nice to meet you. I go by DawnFire, and I'm new-ish around here.
What I mean by 'new-ish' is that I've never posted on this board before, and haven't really followed it, either, but I've known about the PPC for...wow, about 4 or 5 years now, and have read quite a lot of the missions and other more-or-less related stuff like OFUM and HFA. Anyway, I thought I'd say hi, and mention how happy I am to discover that the PPC community is still going strong! Especially since I'm starting to get this sinking feeling that there's going to be an increase in Mary-Sue fic in the wake of the new Hobbit movie...
I think that's about it :) Mae govannen, everyone.

Yum! That sounds delicious :) Thank you very much!
Ah, don't worry about it. The number of misspellings I've had to catch myself from making today, both in comments and stories...a bit embarrassing, really. I'm working on backstory for agents, and I think I've now seen possibly every available misspelling for the name 'Brenda' (no idea why that's her name, it just...came into my head. I swear, these agents and their backstory came out of nowhere. And it's not even done being created yet!) I also managed to catch 'porribly' several sentences ago, and Google Chrome's lovely spell-check just caught 'Thank you very muh!' so I'll fix that :) Seriously, don't worry about it; you're not alone, and it will pass. I, for one, believe that I need more sleep. :)
So, you said you're a fellow newbie? Hi, nice to meet you! Let's be friends :)

Have some lemming repellent; you may need it if you ever forage into the wastes of the Circle of Lemmings.
And oh man, there has been an increase. I took a tally of the types of fics that appeared on the first page of the Hobbit section a couple weeks post-movie release and got more than a quarter Suefics (or possible Suefics). The rest is Thorin/Bilbo, apparently. -

Thank you! Er...what (or rather, where) are the wastes of the Circle of Lemmings? Or what are they from?
I'm not even looking in the Hobbit section much, because I don't want spoilers (a little silly, perhaps, seeing as I have read the book and thus know what happens), and I *still* managed to notice. Mainly because I had a sudden hankering to read some LotR fanfic and checked on AO3, where a bunch of Hobbit stories end up in LotR because they're marked for both fandoms. It's kind of annoying. And so I noticed the increase of fics pairing Bilbo with various dwarves. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but I don't think it was quite as popular before Martin Freeman (and a large number of costars playing dwarves) came on the scene. Of course, that's equally true for a lot of the LotR ships--I doubt they were quite as popular and widespread before the movies came out. Don't get me wrong, I adore the movies and all the hard work that was put into them--but they do tend to catch the attention of Suethors, among other people.
What gets me more than the increase of Suefics in general is the probably-a-Suefic that I checked out because it's basically the rewrite (without permission) of a LotR story, only set in the Hobbit, told in first person instead of third, and sounding a whole lot more like a Suefic. The problem is, the original story (The Awkward Adventures of Meghan Whimblesby) is a serious take/parody on the overdone 'girl falls into M-e' theme, which managed (is still managing, actually) to live up to the note in its summary of being 'a crazy spin on a Mary-Sue fic'. When you retell it with a girl named--I kid you not--Alexandria Millicent Fournier (who goes by Millie because it sounds more feminine, or something like that), using first person, and having her turn into a dwarf without a beard (the a/n at the bottom says she's going by the movie. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I googled some pictures, and as far as I can see, female dwarves DO have beards, they're just very, very thin ones. Is that accurate?), as well as being invited almost immediately to join the dwarves' quest by Gandalf (who she sends at least only about halfway out of character)--hold on, I think I've started making a charge list. I *think* that wasn't my intention...I mean, I'm not really sure this is even bad enough to PPC (although it's definitely heading there), I was just trying to make the point that when you rewrite a sort of Mary-Sue parody like this, you kind of get the Suefic it was parodying...and then, of course, we add plagiarism to the mix, under the banner of 'inspired by' the original story...Ugh. Sorry about the rant/ramble.
(As for post-movie phenomena--I took a quick look, and I think the fandom--or at least, Tumblr--has become obsessed with Kili. Whose hairstyle kind of resembles Aragorn's...just saying :) )
Ah well. New movies have always meant an increase in work for PPCers. I hope it doesn't get too bad with the release of two more Hobbit movies...
Thanks again for the lemming repellent :)

I have had one of my fics plagiarised, and believe me it is not a pretty sight. All the stuff and words that I'd worked hard on twisted to some other author's purpose. Eurgh.
Incidentally did you see my LotR/Sherlock fic on AO3?
The circle of lemmings is the site known as Quotev, and it is a veritable Suvian cesspool. I have yet to find a fic on there that isn't another reiteration of another Suefic. -

I've been fortunate enough not have been plagiarized, but it doesn't sound at all fun, and I'm very sorry to hear that it's happened to you.
That's a distinct possibility...although perhaps you'd better provide me with a link, just to be sure ;)
Huh, I can't say that I've heard of that one. I'll be sure to arm myself quite thoroughly with lemming repellent should I ever get the urge to check it out.
(Out of curiosity, how exactly did this naming system start? For instance, why the Pit of Voles? It's been puzzling me for, quite literally, years) -

I can tell you it's the All that is Gold Does Not Glitter series, with "A Study in Mithril", "Many Meetings", and the WIP "The Blind Elvenking".
The naming system as far as I'm concerned is done by majority vote? Well, I believe Sevenswans was the one who first proposed the name "Circle of Lemmings", and we took a vote and passed it. Circle of Lemmings is actually extremely appropriate given the lemming-like nature of the Suethors that inabit its depths. -

Huh, I think I actually saw the summary recently while skimming through the list of fanfics in the LotR section. Funny, that. Well, I'll give the series a try now :)
Ok, I've given it a try. I also wrote down some of my impressions, but it was getting long, so I moved it to a review on the actual story and added a bit of post-story reflection. I will tell you here that I really, really enjoyed it, can see you put a LOT of work into it, and am very glad you asked if I'd read it.
Huh. So, logically, FFN has a lot of vole-like Suethors? *looks up an image* Umm...voles are kind of cute. But also small and rat-like. I guess it depends on the vole...and I don't think I'd like to be dropped in a pit of them, especially as I'd then have to deal with squished voles...hm. Yes, perhaps it's appropriate. Now for lemmings...
Oh, wow, lemmings are so cute! Seriously, they're adorable! But also rodents. And still very cute. Perhaps I'm looking at this naming system from the wrong angle? Or maybe it's just me finding small, furry creatures cute? No wonder I like tribbles so much.
Well, I'll take the naming system in the spirit it was meant, but, well...real voles and lemmings are still pretty cute.
(Also: by 'lemming-like nature', do you mean that they're small, furry rodents with a tendency to be multicolored?)
And sorry it took me a while to reply, I wanted to read the story first :)

Not sure about voles, but lemmings... They have a tendency to follow each other and copy each other, possibly to their own detriment. The Suethors of the circle are often extreme copycats.

Both, actually. I've even read the Beka Cooper books, though not that recently. I've been a fan for...good lord, 9 years. My first fanfic ever was a Tortall one, not that I knew what a fanfic was back then. Wow. Times sure do change.
Stormwing feathers! Very useful, I thank you *takes them very, very carefully* I get the feeling I'll have some very happy (and well-supplied) agents, once they actually exist properly...so thanks on their behalf as well.
Hm...don't the raka turn them into knives in the Trickster books? And use them for arrow fletching? It sounds like a good idea to me...
And then, of course, the question arises: can you take arrows fletched with Stormwing feathers into LotR canon? The answer, I'm pretty sure, is unfortunately, no. Pity. Maybe I'll come across a Tortall Sue someday...
Anyway, ignore the rambling (unless you like reading rambling, in which case, don't), and thanks again :)

I would say welcome to the PPC, but you have been around for a few years now, even if you werequietly observing from the shadows.
(So THAT'S the reason I felt like I was being watched. I thought it was Pinkamina, waiting for the right moment to strike. Now I know it was DawnFire waiting for the right moment to post!)
Now Jumper, be nice.
(What did I do?)
Anyway, as you know, there are a few questions that must be answered.
1. What are your fandoms?
2. Have you read the constitution and TOS? (I asume so, but to be safe...)
3. How did you find us? (Think back, way back.)
4. Do you want to write missions? If so, what department do you want to work under?
5. Do you like bananas?
Answer those, and we will get along just fine. Have a nice continued stay at the PPC. While here, enjoy our complementary bleepren tablets. -

Ok. Upon rechecking the Constitution, I can tell you that I've read it recently and now remember what it is--in more detail, I did remember the rules, I just didn't remember if they fell under the heading of 'Constitution' (which is ridiculous, because I took a Law class last year and know very well what a constitution *is*).
Also, my brain is now trying to create agents. It doesn't have much yet--mostly just a general air of 'happyhappyhappysporktheficskillthesuesppcagentsyay!' I would back away slowly if I didn't agree (and if it wasn't kind of hard to back away from your own brain without some sort of telepathic abilities).
Thanks? I think?

Wow, you guys are fast! Two replies already! I think I'll like it here :)
Thanks :) Don't worry about me striking--unless it's with an unexpected poke or hug. Or maybe chocolate. Not sure. I promise not to poke anyone undeservedly with a crochet hook or knitting needle, though.
Questions, questions...well, this should be fun. And interesting, too.
In answer:
1. Good heavens. Well, Tolkien, Harry Potter, Star Trek, Avengers, Supernatural...I think that's everything I read fanfiction of, although I might be missing something--oh, Buffy, though I haven't seen all of it. Oh wow, I managed to leave out Doctor Who (New Who, I'm afraid) as well. Also, Torchwood (new season? Please? No? Ok. I'll keep waiting), and Sherlock (of course...), and I really hope that's it, because otherwise this is going to keep going forever. I also have other favorite authors and book series (Tamora Pierce, Gerald Morris, Lloyd Alexander, and recently Agatha Christie), but...again, this could easily go on forever, and there are more questions, so I'll leave it there for the moment.
2. I've read PPC:TOS (as opposed to Star Trek: TOS, although I've watched almost all of that and read some comics and books as well) more times than I've bothered to count over the past 4 or 5 years (I would love to pick one number and stick to it, but I'm not really sure which one's correct), and most recently read it...two days ago, I think--I didn't have internet in my building, so I went and opened it all and then came back and read it :) It was very fun. That's possibly more detailed than you needed or wanted, but being exact is often fun :) I've read the constitution pretty recently too, and I'm sure I've read it before, although not quite as often. I'll probably check it out again soon, since I can't quite remember what was on it now...
3. Oh dear. I think I ran into OFUM on FFN, and then followed that to Miss Cam's website, and found the PPC from there? That sounds possible...logical, too. It's also possible that I found a PPC story on FFN and got involved from there, but I think that just followed as a result...Yes, let's go with the OFUM route. That makes sense. Actually, that makes so much sense that I think I'm starting to remember it.
4. Do I want to write missions? Good question. I wouldn't mind, certainly, and would like to at some point, but I also know that I happen to write a LOT of stories (both original and fan), and have a tendency to start a lot of projects at once and not really finish anything quickly. It would be fun, though...I suppose we'll see. If I suddenly get the urge to make up a pair of agents and find some badfic, I'll let you know :) As for department, it would probably be the Mary-Sue one--I know it best, and know the most about Sues in general. (I like writing parodies. They're fun.)
Actually (as a side point), one of the reasons I decided to say hello is because of a parody I'm writing--I wanted to see if I could, at some point, get permission to write an outtake where some PPC agents come in and fix everything. I suppose if I eventually start writing missions, those agents could be the ones I write...It's not really important right now, since the parody story is neither finished nor posted anywhere, but since it's related to the question, I thought I'd mention it.
Hm. On second thought (or possibly third or fourth), yes, I think I would like to write missions. I'm just not sure about how quickly I could do it, considering time constraints and other projects, but I think it would be fun to try. I have to hang around for a while before asking for permission, though, right?
5. Bananas. I suppose as a Doctor Who fan I should love them, but the truth is that I have a love-hate relationship with bananas. In Doctor Who canon, I'm all for them. In Real Life...I go through phases. (I think the term I'm looking for is actually 'on again, off again'...) At the moment, I'm pretty sure we're off. I'd probably still eat them in cereal, though. Do you like bananas? Better yet, do you like salt and vinegar potato chips?
...wait, so no matter what I answered to those questions, we'll still get along just fine? I'm a little confused. Or maybe you're just very accepting.
Thanks :) I think I'm going to enjoy myself. Thank you very much for the bleeprin, I'm sure it will come in handy at some point (hopefully not too soon!)

You gave me a tribble! *happy dance* Tribble, tribble, tribble! I love tribbles! You have given me a tribble! We will forever be friends :D (it may or may not be 2 am where I am. That may or may not be contributing to my silliness) In other words, thank you very, very much for the tribble! I do hope I don't have to be too careful about what I feed it...? I don't want to find myself overrun...
(Question: what happens if a tribble eats Bleeprin? Also, what am I going to name the tribble? I have a ball of fluff! It's so cute! It even purrs...)
Somewhat more seriously...it's always fun to share fandoms. And a love of chocolate, of course. Also: you're writing OFAS, which I just found out about and read today (from the message board), and absolutely love! I think you're doing a great job with it. It's entertaining and quite amusing to read, and I'm now looking forward to more of it.
As for ST series...I'm most familiar with AOS and TOS, as well as the earlier movies (I think I've seen four of them so far? Something like that. As for TOS, I'm just finishing season 3, but I'm very much in the fandom). After that, I'm most familiar with TNG, but I've only seen a handful of episodes, and out of order, at that. When I started out watching, I decided I wanted to watch in order, though I cheated a little with TNG, because I was curious (and there are Moriarty episodes, which are amazing). About Voyager, DS9, and Enterprise, I just know whatever I've picked up from fanfic and conversations, though they sound intriguing. TOS and AOS would have to be my favorites, although I'm starting to grow rather fond of the TNG characters, too...so it's possible that I just like all ST series, and just don't know them all yet :) I'm in favor of everything Star Trek, though. Especially tribbles :) And now, of course, I want to rewatch the TNG episode where they go back in time to the "Trouble With Tribbles" episode...mainly because I remember it being amusing and don't remember why they had to go back, not to mention that I want another look at how they pulled it off...
Anyway. I shall go and eat chocolate and cuddle with my tribble and sleep, and in my sleep I shall dream of crossovers.
Bonne nuit (/soir/matin/euh...afternoon), mon nouvelle amie (I'm assuming you're female, since you're not harry of vulcan? If not, my apologies for the mistake),

Bleepolate (for when you want your memories to go fuzzy while you get a sugar rush)
One (1) exploding pen (same rules as the one in the James Bond movie GoldenEye--click it three times, and you have four seconds, I believe, to disarm it by clicking it three more times. If you don't disarm it, it...explodes rather spectacularly. This particular pen is one of quite a few identical onesmade by Q-branch. Unfortunately, the customized BMW and Q's lunch did not have extras lying around for awed agents to pick up, but on the other hand...exploding pen. Just make sure not to accidentally give it to Skyfall!verse Bond--he's not supposed to have one).
A serving of chips/french fries (straight from a chip shop in Doctor Who canon London)
And a partridge in a--wait, no, sorry. Unless you want one, of course, then you're welcome to it. What I meant was: And a playlist of good music of your choice (for use in drowning out annoying music and conversations in songfics and Mary-Sue fics, and any other fics too, really.)
Welcome to the party :)

My sister was the one who conviced me to watch and because I can't undertsand her when she talks about the anime, I felt like I had to watch for her.
Unfortunately, I haven't finshed the whole series. Since I usually just read about them in the wikia or the comic strips (I don't really watch anime, reading manga is my thing). But hey, I'm can understand her now!
The strips are definitely fun to read. I read fanfiction as well, except for those fanfics that gives me headaches.

(Sorry for the horrible title. I'm awful at naming things. If anybody has a better idea that would be amazing >.>)
Okay, so, the rules are simple.
You state a character, what you think their favourite (world one) band is, give a link to a particular song from said band/artist, and explain why you think of that song and artist!
I'll start off with one just to show what I mean.
Character: Rainbow Dash
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Band: The Offspring
Reasoning: I watched a certain fan music video, and it struck me as awesomely appropriate: (NSFW for mild language) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVCFV7jT9ho&feature=watch-vrec
Hopefully, this will be fun!

There's a song that's reminded me consistantly of James Potter for several years now. It's called "To Know Her is to Love Her"; I don't know who it's by, but it was covered by the Beatles (I have it from a CD called 'The Beatles: Live at the BBC'), and it seems to me to fit James' thoughts (and mindset) about Lily Evans perfectly. (And yes, I think he'd at least appreciate the song.)
Also: "Paint it Black" (Rolling Stones)...well, I'd love to make some sort of joke about Sirius liking it, but it actually reminds me more of the Ninth Doctor, especially before he meets Rose. (To be clear--it seems more like a song he'd like than a song that characterizes him).
And "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen will forever remind me of AOS James Kirk, due to him singing along to it in a fanfic I read (and thereby introducing me to the song in the first place). Also, the idea of Jim Kirk liking Queen...well, it seems pretty perfect to me, really. It's exactly his sort of band. -

I see where you're coming from on that. "Traveling at the speed of light" is obvious, but the rest of it too.
Speaking of songs that remind us of Star Trek: "Come Sail Away" by Styx has the lines "I thought that they were angels/But to my surprise/We climbed aboard their starship/And headed for the skies." And the first verse reminds me of Kirk (looking forward), the second of Picard (introspective), and the lines "And we'll try/best that we can/to carry on" reminds me of Janeway.

This one is going to sound like a stretch, but I think Master Xehanort would appreciate "Lights" by Ellie Goulding.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NKUpo_xKyQ
The lines "I had a way then, losing it all on my own/And I'm not sleeping now; the dark is too hard to beat" could reference his initial keyblade training and subsequent acceptance of the power of darkness.
"I had a heart then . . ." Could refer to leaving his body behind so his heart could travel through time, or to losing his heart and splitting into a Heartless and Nobody.
"And I think back to when my brother and my sister slept/In an unlocked place the only time I feel safe." The "brothers and sisters" are the Nobodies of Organization XIII while they were still under Xemnas' control, and being prepared as receptacles--"safe places"--for Xehanort's heart.
And of course, the "lights" in the song title and chorus are the heroes who Xehanort has forced into conflict with himself throughout the years, and who have so far managed to halt his plans. "You show the lights that stop me . . . you shine it when I'm alone." -

(I am, however, not entirely certain whether the English is correct or not. At the very least, I don't think it's particularly butchered...)
Ah, well, I'm vegetarian, so I wouldn't actually know about eggs and any sort of meat going together. But I understand the idea.
Because, really, they shouldn't work so well together, because the song and his life story and personality have some inconsistencies. But...it still works, with the tune and the words and--well, it works. Enough attempted explanations.
And yes, I am most definitely a fellow Pierce fan. Have been for...approximately 9 years or so. Possibly a little more. I've read pretty much everything (Tortall and Circle), except for several of the short stories. Her writing is...amazing, really. I won't wax lyrical about it right now, but I can, and that really tells you just about all you need to know :) How about you?

(Ah, well, it looks right, in any event...)
I've read 3/4 of the Wild Magic quartet, all of the Trickster duet, 2/3 of the Provost's Dog trilogy, Melting Stones, and the first book of the Lioness quartet. I'd have to say my experience is shamefully scattered - mostly because I got started on Pierce's work through school library books. -weeps-
That said, Beka and Aliane are my favorite characters so far. Mostly because they have key personality traits (such as Beka's shyness and Aliane's craftiness) that I admire and/or identify with very strongly. And I really like the way Pierce treats magic - you can't do everything there is to be done with it, it comes in different types and only to a lucky some, and you can only have one type (typically). For some reason I find that easier to believe than the 'magi of many magic tricks' I see more and more of these days...
And Beka's special brand of magic (wind magic, I believe her grandmother calls it) is amazing. Yee~ -

Star Trek, obviously.
Character: Captain Kathryn Janeway
Canon: Star Trek: Voyager
Artist: Bonnie Raitt
Reasoning: While most of her songs are about love, they're usually a woman-takes-charge view, and I feel that the song "Love Me Like a Man" was Janeway's challenge to any guy who would want her. Especially the lines about "Find a man to take me home" and "Love my backbone, would you?" Also, both Bonnie Raitt and Janeway have rougher voices that are still compelling.
Character: Seven of Nine
Canon: Star Trek: Voyager
Artist: Enya
Reasoning: Enya's music follows logical patterns and her voice isn't passionate, which would appeal to Seven's Borg side. But the interplay of the different instrumentals and vocal parts makes the music emotional, bringing Seven in touch with her human side. While not really about Seven, when I first listened to "Long Long Journey", it reminded me of Voyager, especially the chorus: "Long long journey/Through the darkness/Long long way to go/But what are miles across the ocean/to the heart that's coming home". And for Seven, "Book of Days" is about perserverence and trying to find a new life. After leaving the Collective, Seven had to try to make a new life on Voyager and in human society, and (for the most part) succeeded.

I'm going to have to say right now that Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls would really like Owl City. Here's "When Can I See You Again": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7eajYbsjQc I think the upbeat rhythms, Sweet Dreams Fuel themes, and sometimes-weird but generally very sweet lyrics would appeal to her. And yes, this is the same song I said would probably be Agent Jack's theme song.
Finn from Adventure Time would probably enjoy DragonForce. If you haven't heard that band, I don't blame you, but here's a classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaSYvvfzYaE It's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but in my opinion Finn would love it for the metal and for the somewhat meaningless but still badass lyrics. I know I do. -

But can I substitute with key search words?
And can they be OCs?
If so:
Character: Simon Bellamay III
Canon: The Chronicle of Simon Bellamay the Third
Band: Broken Iris, "A New Hope"
Reasoning: So, the song talks about a guy at the gravestone of somebody close to him, trying to find something that inspires him to continue on past his feelings of loss and lonliness. That's about... oh, 50% of Simon's whole backstory, which is why he starts off so pissy in the story. -

Real Life decided to come in and force me to not be able to defend my game here. Anyway, I do understand there was already a game right beneath. However, the two games are completely different. One assigns a song or band to a character. Mine is, as I said, a mixture of role play and guessing game, or perhaps more appropriately a mystery game. You find clues to who the sues are in reality while still trying to 'deal' with them in-game. I also gave the game beneath about a day before posting my own. However, if there is a mandate of one game per page, or some period of time before you can create your own game thread that I violated, then I am sorry. Still, I like the mixture idea you came up with, I just don't think this should stop because of the other thread. If this is ignorance on my part, I apologize.
Still, this game is fun so far. What have I unleashed onto the board? -
Re: Sorry for the late response. by

The trouble is that, while they are different, not waiting an interval of several threads before posting another game looks hasty and draws attention away from the first game, because every thread bumps the others down and both threads are games, so people go "Oooh a game!" and get distracted by it and, even if they might be interested in the earlier posted one too, they don't see it because they're engrossed in the later -- and therefore higher on the Board -- game.
There's no written rule about this that I know of, but whether it's a good time to post another game or not is guesstimated by how many threads have been posted after the first game. Board time isn't like Real time; the passage of time on the Board is marked off by threads being posted, not the clock. -

Catastrophe: the Sues we were keeping in the Board's basement have managed to escape. How they did this, I have no idea.
Fortunately, I have managed to hide in a closet where we were storing some rather nice suits of armour. I've managed to pry an HEV suit out of its locker and to power up its shields. It's a bit big, but the hazmat protection it gives is well worth the discomfort. Hopefully the suit's seals can repel Glitter...
My first priority is to find an RA to get back to World One. Hopefully I'll be able to do so without attracting any attention. I still don't know where are the other people that were hanging out here. Maybe I'll bump into them while walking around.

Well, things are fInnaLy--oops, *finally*--looking up. I managed to trip over--I mean, I managed to find the blaster, and, well, bye-bye Sue. I really like this weapon. The Black Widow definitely had the right idea when she picked one up. Unfortunately, I got knocked unconscious due to too much glitter inhalation after the Sue exploded--and, well, I'm no agent, but don't Sues normally fall down dead when you kill them? Maybe there are different rules here than in the canons...anyway, I lost some time and have no idea how long I was out for, especially seeing as my watch display can't be seen through the glitter. I don't know how the stuff got inside the casing, and I'm not sure how to get it out again, either. Hm, maybe I can blind a Sue with it...
Oh, yes, there are more Sues around. I can hear them moving and talking in the hallways. It's pretty scary, actually; I mean, managed to get rid of one of them, yes, but, well, to be honest, I don't really know what I'm doing. I wasn't exactly trained for this, and I haven't even got anything useful in here--like, say, a remote activator or any of the other nifty items PPC agents get to take care of Sues...I'm a sitting duck if I stay in this room, but I can't get out because of the Sues! And what if I get Sued again? I'm a writer! I can't lost all sense of coherent--
Wait! Agents! That's the key! If I can just get a message to PPC HQ--I know agents there! They can come and help!

Dear Agent Loringham,

Please come quickly, and bring everything you need to take down an as-yet-unknown number of Sues. Be warned: they explode into glitter when killed (or at least one of them has), in violation of most normal Sue deaths.
I am currently trapped in my room, and have heard nothing from my fellow Board members. What little I do know is that there has been a sudden influx of Sues, most likely the ones that were being kept in the basement for

Just making sure. This sounds pretty fun! So, in the 'real' game where we're guessing, we also have to deal with the Sue, either through concrit or cleverness?

It does need to be finished, but the author has unfortunately not updated in the month or so that I've been checking...which means, not since September, going by the date on the story. But there's still hope! Or at least, we can still have hope! With luck, we will even get an update this year :)

It's essentially Tara telling her story with more coherent SPaG and Jennifer saying oh dear from time to time. I would have spent more time on Jennifer herself. Also, the ending feels a bit rushed. But the idea is nice.

I agree about the Killing Curse--it seems rather violent for a Healer, not to mention against the law and, assuming Healers have anything like the Hippocratic Oath, I'm pretty sure it would go against that, too. Tara could still perhaps have been saved...or maybe an exorcism could have been found to get rid of Ebony?
As I said before, in my opinion it's a very well-done story, which could, with a little editing, be absolutely amazing in every way. -

A Return To The PPC... by

Heyo, people. Well, it's me.
For those of you who don't know who I am (which I imagine is quite a few of you), I actually used to hang out at the PPC about a year ago. I wrote a few missions with the PPC, and had a bit of a good time with it. And then... well, a lot of things happened, and then I ended up leaving the PPC.
Well, I guess I can't really stay away all that long. I'll be honest: I missed this place, I really did. I actually debated coming back here for some time, 'cause there are things about this place I really missed.
So yeah. I'm back.
And... well, I think this needs to be said to some people (you know who you are):
I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was such a jerk when I left the PPC. I won't bother making excuses for that, because my doucheyness was unjustified and all that. And I'm sorry. I've had some time to think about it, though, and I think that I've become better in the past few months, so hopefully I won't be a jerk to you all.
So yeah. That's... well, I'm back. -

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3679578/1/My-Boys
OCxGeorge,OCxFred,OCxSnape,OCxDraco and possible some Drarry and OCxHarry. Fred died in the final battle but what happens when the girl he and George both love is pregnant? And she's living with Draco? Rated M for a reason
In case you didn't guess, the OC referenced in all the pairings in the summary is the same one each time, and she's a Slytherin - George, Fred and Harry are of course well known in the canon for their fondness of people from that particular House. However, it's her pairing with Snape that I found the most disturbing, given that she's just 13 at the time.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/10312/1/The-Girl-who-Tamed-Unicorns
The story of a new arrival at Hogwarts. Sorry, this is a bad summary, but I'm new at this
Rated K
The new arrival turns out to be a Sue (surprise, surprise!), the most beautiful girl the boys have ever seen, and such a natural at magic that she can outperform Hermione despite having no formal tuition before, and the fic being set in their 4th year. -

There are two new chapters, and the author has also written a Hunger Games fic with equally horrible SPaG. What are the minis for Hunger Games? Mini-muttations? Mini-Mockingjays? Whatever they are, they exist. And the author even claims she had a beta look it over.

In the mission I am writing right now, my Agents are offered the sight of a road made from cars, with smaller car-roads inside each of them in an infinitely recursive fashion.
That's what you get when a fic starts as a trainwreck... then halfway through the derailed train is hit by an earthquake, falls down a cliff and is attacked by the giant dragon living in it.
And then both the train and the dragon get hit by a meteorite. -

And let's not get started on the way she doesn't capitalize brands, so Chinese Laundry shoes are probably going to manifest as dirty clothes on her feet with maps of China on them.) -

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, and the wonderfully random gifts. I'll probably hang around the Board often. I'm so happy to be here!
(Please forgive me for being so giddy. That's just my slightly insane half.) -

I see from glancing below that we share some fandoms, like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Star Trek. What does "a little bit of Star Trek" mean? Hopefully, it's enough to know what a tribble is, because that's your welcome present. *throws tribble* (Don't worry, it's spayed/neutered.)

Welcome to the Board! Have some of my hydrophobic water to commemorate the event. Partly composed of the essence of chaos.
If you haven't done so already, be sure to check out our Constitution and The Original Series!
So with all of that out of the way, what are your fandoms? -
Thanks! by

Why, thank you very much! I have read TOS and the Constitution.
My fandoms... hmmm. There are so many that I love I would have to say Middle-earth, Harry Potter, Redwall, Avatar:The Last Airbender, Percy Jackson, and probably a bit of Star Trek too. Plus a handful of other stuff and whatever I've forgotten here.

Asking for ConCrit. Again. by

Alright. I guess that not many boarders here have watched Total Drama. That's OK, there is still a lot I can get complaints on, my grammar, my plot, my continuity, anything else. So, here I am again to present my next fic.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8926261/1/Blood
This fic, Blood, is about Justin's bloodlust and backstory. It's just the first chapter. Any comments on my writing skill will be used to improve it, so comments are very much in need. And don't hold back, poke any holes you can. -
More stuff. by

God, that experience was good. I really appreciate it.
I need help on three more of my fics. There are two others on my account, but it is in Malay. I hope that you will help me.
Also, one of my own fic, an Eyeshiel 21 and Fate/Stay Night crossover, needs a good sporking. Anyone with a kind heart should let me know before they sporked it. -
Excellent! by

I'll work on these mistakes as soon as I can. Will you be my beta reader? If you couldn't, who should I approach?
It might take a week or so for me to correct everything. I intend to make this fic of mine multichapter, so I will notify you of the hanging points soon enough.
Thanks again. Your corrections is very much appreciated. -

But either they aren't as concerned about good writing as the entirety of PPC, or they won't give me concrits.

Not knowing Total Drama, I can't say anything about OOCness, but the first thing I noticed was the SPaG errors. You switch tenses from time to time (sometimes mid-sentence), I caught a don't that was used instead of a doesn't and in general, the SPaG's a bit wonky. This is nothing you couldn't fix if you got someone who read through it before you published it.
Just reread it with these things in mind and you'll find them. -
Done! Well, only the tense... by

You did say my grammar was a bit 'wonky'. I do hope that you can be a bit specific on that. I had already edited my fic based only on its tense. I do hope that you'll give me more concrit.
Man, it feels like I'm having an English teacher again. Awesome!
Also, thanks again. -

Needing a decent blog service. by
on 2013-01-20 17:04:00 UTC

Ok, I was supposed to keep writing my mission today, but I decided to work on my Blank Sprite project instead.
The problem is, WordPress just doesn't cut it. Why?
Wordpress doesn't support all HTML tags, and I kinda need the embed one in order to use those little music players.
Like this:
SCM Music Player http://scmplayer.net -->
type="text/javascript" src="http://scmplayer.net/script.js"
data-config="{'skin':'skins/aquaBlue/skin.css','volume':50,'autoplay':false,'shuffle':false,'repeat':2,'placement':'top','showplaylist':false,'playlist':[{'title':'Test song - Magia (Kalafina, Madoka Magica OST)','url':'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsLorzsWz3U'}]}" >
SCM Music Player script end -->
And since I don't want to pay WordPress 20 bucks to use the paid music support extension, I need to change blog.
What I need is a simple, no-fuss blog thingie allowing all HTML tags. Blank Sprite isn't based on a badfic (or, rather, there is what is arguably a badfic involved... but I am one of the authors and the others don't care about it anymore), but uses canon characters (as you might have guessed from the trailer at the end of Mission #0), so it can accept only the latter.
So, where should I go? -
Have you tried Blogger? by
on 2013-01-20 17:24:00 UTC

From what I know, they allow lots of HTML, as long as you can write it down yourself.

Probably the Board doesn't support it either. Anyways, the first link answers the "what the heck is this?" question.
Oh, and the answer to "Why the heck do you need music?" is: good old Sergio is crazy enough to want to add background music to his big secret project.
